Franklynn Components
My machined bicycle components will be detailed in this Blog. I design and machine all the components myself. A lot of this work is done manually and the parts are usually 'one offs' or low quantity.

Lefty Wheel Axle for Standard forks
I wanted to use a spare set of Lefty wheels on a new bike with a standard fork. I have made this custom front axle that allows the Lefty wheel to be fitted to a standard fork with a standard 9mm skewer.
I will take a clearer picture when I remove the axle ready for anodising :)

New Headset Cups for custom frame
I have made some headset cups for a new frame. The bottom cup has been made to match the diameter of Syncros fork crown fitted. The Headset cups are fitted with standard IS-2 integrated heaset sealed bearings.
The heaset cups and spacers have been fitted and used for a few weeks to check everything is working ok. The cups will be removed and sent for anodising soon. The Headset cups will be anodised black with the recessed grooves painted in red.

Klein adept at the cyclocross
I rode the Klein Adept for the last two rounds of the London Cyclocross series. The gears on my regular Specialized cross bike had given up for the season. The Adept does seem to be very... adept. Franky brakes etc are also performing well.

All black component set now complete.
The latest parts are now complete and assembled on to a re-sprayed 1994 Klein Adept Hybrid frame. The black parts calm down the shocking pink finish somewhat!
I have found some black Clarks brake pads that match the finish of the brakes nicely:
The picture below shows the brake cable hanger, Klein MC1 shim and a top cap for the Thomson stem.
I will follow up with some pictures of the complete bike, I want to take a picture of it in use, rather than leant against the garage wall.
